NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS, THAT: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEIR

(1) PROPOSES TO INSTITUTE ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS TO ENLARGE AND EXTEND THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TERRITORY, TO-WIT:

BEING: Description of a 127.36 acre tract of land located in the Samuel Nimmo Survey, Abstract 481, Williamson County, Texas, Being that certain called 127.58 acre tract of land conveyed to Rickey Lane Peterson by Special Warranty Deed of record in Document No. 1998004187 and described in Warranty Deed of Record in Document No. 1996012926, official public records of Williamson County, Texas, save and except that certain called 0.223 acre tract of land conveyed to Williamson County, Texas, by Special Warranty Deed of record in Document No. 2005055315, said official public records, said 127.36 acre tract of land being surveyed on the ground in January, 2021 under the direct supervision of Miguel A. Escobar, LSLS, RPLS, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:

BEGINNING, at a 3/8 inch iron rod cap stamped “CCC 4835” found in the south right-of-way line of the Georgetown Railroad, formally known as Missouri, Kansas, and Texas (M.K.&T.) Railroad, the Georgetown and Granger (G.&G.) Railroad, and Missouri Pacific (MoPac) Railroad, for the northeast corner of that certain called 240.4’x91’ tract of land conveyed to Martin and Barbara L. Maldonado by Special Warranty Deed of record in Document No. 2011007392, same being the northernmost northwest corner of said 127.58 acre tract of land, and for the northernmost northeast corner of the herein described tract;

THENCE, North 74°45’28” East, with the south right-of-way line of said Georgetown Railroad, same being the north boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract of land, a distance of 5052.26 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod found for the northwest corner of that certain called 28.11 acre tract of land conveyed to Joe R. and Barbara S. Cowles by Warranty Deed of record in Document No. 2000012957, said Official Public Records, for the northeast corner of said 127.58 acre tract, and for the northeast corner of the herein described tract, from which point a 1 inch iron pipe bears North 71°22’22” East, a distance of 15.64 feet;

THENCE, South 21°53’26” East, with the west boundary line of said 28.11 acre tract of land, same being the east boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract, a distance of 613.47 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set for the easternmost southeast corner of the herein described tract, from which point a 1/2 inch iron rod found for an interior corner of said 28.11 acre tract of land bears N 70°55’08” East, a distance of 27.58 feet;

THENCE, South 68°15’34” West, with the south boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract, a distance of 200.00 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set for and interior ell corner of the herein described tract;

THENCE, South 21°44’26” East, with a west boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract of land, a distance of 164.09 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set for the northeast corner of that certain called 165.5 acre tract of land conveyed to Charles Mervin Walker, et ux, by Deed of record in Volume 543, Page 611, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, for the southernmost southeast corner of said 127.58 acre tract, and for the southernmost southeast corner of the herein described tract;

THENCE, South 68°16’03” West, with the north boundary line of said 165.5 acre tract of land, same line being the south boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract, a distance of 2498.29 feet, to a fence corner post found;

THENCE, South 70°42’00” West, with the north boundary line of said 165.5 acre tract of land, a distance of 1978.50 feet, to a point in the centerline of a creek;

THENCE, with the centerline of a creek, same being the south boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract of land, the following six (6) courses and distances:

  1. South 71°16’06” West, a distance of 181.24 feet, to a calculated point;
  2. South 41°45’43” West, a distance of 112.78 feet, to a calculated point;
  3. South 32°57’07” West, a distance of 110.19 feet, to a calculated point;
  4. South 29°24’01” East, a distance of 127.42 feet, to a calculated point;
  5. South 38°10’28” West, a distance of 106.44 feet, to a calculated point;
  6. South 71°46’12” West, a distance of 128.01 feet, to a calculated point in the east right-of-way line of County Road 120, a variable width roadway, as conveyed to Williamson County (called 0.223 acres of land) in said Document No. 2005055315, for the southwest corner of the herein described tract;

THENCE, with said east right-of-way line of County Road 120, the following three (3) courses and distances:

  1. North 21°11’31” West, a distance of 313.02 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set for the northeast corner of said 0.223 acre tract of land;
  2. North 50°42’10” West, a distance of 57.45 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set in the west boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract of land, for the northwest corner of said 0.223 acre tract of land;
  3. North 21°03’43” West, with the west boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract, a distance of 1114.15 feet, to a 1/2 inch iron rod with cap stamped “STEGER BIZZELL” set for the southwest corner of said 240.4’x91’ tract of land, from which point a 3/8 inch iron rod with cap stamped “CCC 4835” found bears North 61°07’48” West, a distance of 3.25 feet;

THENCE, North 74°44’50” East, with the south boundary line of said 240.4’x91’ tract, a distance of 240.00 feet, to a 3/8 inch iron rod found for the southeast corner of said 240.4’x91’ tract of land, for an interior corner of the 127.58 acre tract, and for an interior corner of the herein described tract;

THENCE, North 20°48’32” West, with the east boundary line of said 240.4’x91’ tract of land, same being the west boundary line of said 127.58 acre tract of land, a distance of 90.82 feet, to the POINT OF BEGINNING, and containing 127.36 acres of land, more or less, within these metes and bounds.

(2) 2021-2022 BUDGET

The City of Weir, Texas will discuss the 2021-2022 Budget.

The City of Weir encourages all citizens to participate in this meeting for the Budget to make their views known at this public hearing.

TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD BY AND BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF the City of Weir, Texas on the 9th day of September, 2021, at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers of City Hall of the City of Weir, Texas, for all persons interested in the above proposed zoning changes.

At said time and place such persons shall have the right to appear and be heard.  Of all said matters and things, all interested persons in matters and things herein mentioned will take notice.
